Profile bio

About Catharine E. Krebs

I am currently working as a Medical Research Program Manager at the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine to improve human and animal lives through ethical and effective scientific research. I received my PhD in Human Genetics in September 2018 under the supervision of Dr. Ophoff with a psychiatric genomics-focused dissertation titled "The molecular signatures of bipolar disorder and lithium treatment."I have volunteer experience in non-profit mental health advocacy and homelessness outreach. During my PhD, I co-founded the Science Policy Group at UCLA, a student group dedicated to bridging the gap between academic researchers and policymakers on issues related to health, technology, and the environment. I also founded Brewin' Talks, a graduate student-only forum for research talks and networking opportunities. These experiences have provided me with excellent leadership and communication skills and have helped shape my empathic, human- and animal-oriented value system.

Listed skills include Neuroscience, Research, Genetics, Microsoft Office, and 22 others.
