I teach exceptional third-graders, edit Masters-level papers, and write. Since graduating with a Bachelor of the Arts focused on Writing, I have earned a Publishing Institute certification, a Masters degree in Special Education, and a Certificate (Laureate) through the Bellarmine University Literacy Project. Sharing my love for the way words touch, transport, and challenge me brought me to the classroom, and my students with learning and behavioral disabilities challenge me to spark their curiosity. I am skilled in Literacy, Classroom Management, Lesson Planning, Educational Technology, and Instructional Design. My passion is to make reading enjoyable for all my students and I have a work ethic that goes on beyond the school day. I level passages and assessments and embellish them with engaging visuals to build student’s schema. When a lesson falls short, I reflect on my own teaching, research new approaches and collaborate with my colleagues. When a lesson shines, we all celebrate each other’s success.
