Access Cambridge Archaeology (ACA) is an initiative of the Department of Archaeology which aims to raise academic aspirations and achievement amongst potential future undergraduates, thereby raising rates of progression to Higher Education amongst currently under-represented groups and to provide opportunities for cultural and educational enrichment for the general public. A major part of ACA’s current activity is the Higher Education Field Academy project (HEFA), which enables hundreds of young people each year to develop new transferable skills, raised academic self-confidence, and an enthusiasm for progressing to Higher Education, by carrying out original independent archaeological investigative projects.
