Catherine Daniel is the Founder and Executive Director of Girl Up Umoja, a pioneering club under Girl Up global movement dedicated to menstrual health education, sexual and reproductive health rights, and the fight against period poverty. She is passionate about creating a period-positive environment for every menstruator, Catherine’s work focuses on breaking the stigma around menstruation and ensuring that girls and women have access to the resources and knowledge they need to manage their periods with dignity.Through initiatives like the 'Empower Dada Initiative,' Girl Up Umoja has transformed the lives of young mothers by providing them with essential technical skills and empowering them to become financially independent. Under her leadership, the organization has not only tackled period poverty but also helped young women turn their newfound skills into sustainable livelihoods, producing commercial garments and securing brighter futures.Alongside her advocacy, she is a dedicated high school educator, teaching English and Literature, where she shapes and inspires the next generation.Her passion for women’s empowerment, education, and a period-positive future fuels her mission to create transformative change and uplift every girl and woman in her community. #whengirlsriseweallrise
