I am currently director of Laois Education Support Centre in Portlaoise, Co. Laois. We provide support to schools in Laois, part of Offaly and North Tipperary. We deliver courses, establish projects and respond to the needs of schools to help support teaching and learning. We facilitate cross-curricular and cross-sectoral collaboration and help build relationships between schools and other organisations to provide enhanced opportunities around education. Prior to holding my current position, I was teaching principal in Lumcloon N.S., Co. Offaly since 2009. A graduate of Carysfort College, I also hold an M. Ed. in Literacy from NUIG. I represent the primary teachers of Leinster on the Teaching Council and serve on its Education and Disciplinary Committees. I am currently researching the prevalence of global trends in Irish education policy as part of a doctoral programme in St. Patrick’s College, Drumcondra. For many years, I have delivered CPD to teachers in Literacy, ICT and SPHE. I am interested in interculturalism, diversity, inclusion and partnerships which explore these areas.
