My idea future is to find a career that uses all my skills and allows me to explore new ideas and places. What that career will be is still in the making but leaning toward Emergency Management Services like Federal Emergency Management and crisis team, responding to areas of the world that have been affected by nature disasters. I was born in Decatur, Illinois and graduated from Lakeview High School. I studied at Richland Community College for several years with a concentration in business before deciding to enter the workforce full time. I have accumulated over 40 years of work experience in a variety of different jobs. Retail – raising to assistant manager in several different stores, creating all the displays for the store, using items from different departments to peak interest for the customer, wrote a report on theft prevention for the district manager for a mall store. Office Administrative Assistant- improved several current ways to increase ease and time management, created several templates to use in various functions of several different offices. Created a template to use for compiling videos for funerals as a tribute for a deceased loved one. Also, knowledge of creating death certificates and dealing with people in a crisis. I was involved in helping to organize a local fundraiser for the county honor guard, the first year we raised $5,000, second year $10,000 and the third year $18,000. Teaching Assistant for special needs students – designed a yearbook for the students, took their senior pictures and built a photobook for them. CPR and first aid instructor for the Red Cross, went to corporate companies to certify workers on CPR and first aid. Paramedic – able to make split second decisions, medical terminology, understand an EKG and know how to correct an irregular heartbeat, and knowledge of medicine and doses of each per patient. Helped coordinate several mass casualties with supervisor, directing ambulance and personnel to locations of need. Construction – replacing, removing, and installing windows, siding, doors. My hobbies are very creative in nature, taking old furniture and making it new or repurpose it, painting and making decorations for seasons, redesigning yards, houses and rooms for a fresh look. I find that I am the happiest when I can make people feel at ease and happy. My future job will be in Emergency Management and crisis team, responding to areas of the world that have been affected by nature disasters.
