About Catherine Large
I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and have an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling from Iron Mill College, a BACP-accredited institution. I work with young adult to elderly clients experiencing a wide range of issues including bereavement, depression and anxiety, affects of past traumas, sexual and domestic abuse, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem and phobias. A qualified Mindfulness teacher, having undertaken training through University of Exeter, I offer this as a way to ground the sessions and to guide clients to engage in an embodied relationship to their emotional world. I love my job, it's an honour to hold someone through life's challenges.I provide a warm, safe, confidential space - online or in person - to explore and guide clients to new understanding. A registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, I offer one hour in person sessions from comfortable, private and light rooms in Central Exeter. Clients come with a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, bereavement, relationship issues, trauma, sexual abuse, panic attacks, ADHD, eating disorders. I provide a safe, warm, comfortable environment for clients to explore what's most important to them. As an integrative person-centred counsellor, I draw a number of therapeutic theories, as well as my mindfulness training, to support and guide clients in exploring what is most important. While working alongside, I gently challenge from time to time, in service to widening the field of insight and connecting to those inner resources, that offer a helpful way of relating to life's challenges.
