In 2009, when Liberty Mutual Insurance formed their commercial Middle Market segment, I took the opportunity to relocate and become a subject matter expert and train the Eastern region in the systems and practices. This position often required twelve-hour days, in order to ensure that all issues, systems, and processes were being addressed properly. I highly enjoyed this position, and was responsible for the largest and fastest growing region in the Eastern Middle Market. I was able to utilize my extensive experience and nationwide contact network to help ensure a smooth roll-out in the new market, and became the main contact for the entire Eastern region for support and practice questions. This position required a constant balance of employee relations, customer service, management training and support, and keeping current on the evolving Insurance environment and system changes. This position strengthened my leadership and organizational skills to be responsible for those outside of my own workload, in order to effectively and efficiently manage the workload and support of my team.

Wausau Insurance was purchased by Liberty Mutual Insurance in 1999. Subsequently the Wasuau Insurance name was officially retired in 2009, after the full integration of operations.I began in the mail room at Wausau Insurance in 1976, and progressed through policy writing, claims, rating, to become an underwriting assistant and, finally, a senior underwriting assistant. Because of this progression through multiple operations, I have a macro understanding of the Insurance industry This was also one of the considerations when I was selected to relocate to the Boston area under the Liberty Mutual Insurance brand to assist in launching the Middle Market segment. During this time, I was selected for multiple special projects, and was often hand-chosen to handle the largest, most complex accounts, often with hundreds of locations and reaching into the millions of dollars of annual premium.My involvement in special projects included traveling to the Home Office in Wausau, WI for meetings on best practices and work flow. I was also an adviser on the creation of the enterprise underwriting system currently being used nationwide.Customer service was always a top priority during my time at Wausau. It was because of my superior customer service that I was able to form personal relationships across multiple internal functions, as well as with customers.
