I have over 20 years experience in public law, and have specialised in Administrative Law for a large portion of that time, representing a range of State Government agencies and their Ministers in both an advisory capacity and in Court. I am a skilled legal manager and have a track record of successfully implementing structural and organisational change.I have extensive experience in providing legal training across many agencies in the Queensland Government on a wide range of issues including sound statutory decision making, drafting statements of reasons, legislative risk and compliance, regulatory investigations and prosecutions, and legislative obligations and requirements under new pieces of legislation and recently amended legislation.I have provided advice and representation to the State of Queensland in many pieces of significant litigation and provide clients with informed and strategic advice to assist them in making informed decisions about their legal position.I am focussed on finding practical solutions for my clients, and working with them to understand their core business and help them meet their legislative obligations in an increasingly regulated environment. I am currently on secondment from my substantive role as Head of Legal Services at Metro South Hospital and Health Service and am acting in the role of Executive Director, Establishment and Implementation, at Forensic Science Queensland (FSQ). FSQ has been recently established out of the recommendations of the Sofronoff Report into Forensic DNA Testing in Queensland. This body is now responsible for the implementation of the recommendations from that report. I am working alongside Professor Linzi Wilson-Wilde, CEO of FSQ to assist in delivering significant strategic and cultural reform at the Forensic Laboratory in Queensland.
