I have been a research funding panel member for NIHR since 2013. On Health Technology Assessment Clinical Evaluation & Trials board (until November 2018), on HTA Programme Oversight Group (to Feb 2020), on Rapid Response Covid-19 Funding panel (jointly run by Dept of Health & Social Care/ UK Research & Innovation/NIHR) to Oct 2020. I am currently a member of the Impact Advisory Board.

Chair for NICE Clinical Guideline ‘Babies, Children and Young People's experience of Healthcare’ I led this guideline, which sets the gold standard for patient experience for all NHS care for under 18s. I chaired the committee of clinicians and lay people, ensured collaborative decision making and that our recommendations were evidence based. Chair of Special Allocation Scheme panel. Member of the Clinical, Quality and Governance committee. Sharing responsibility for ensuring CCG exercised its functions effectively and efficiently with good governance. The governing body oversaw expenditure of £400 million. As well as governance, my focus in this role were to reduce health inequalities and to make sure that opportunities are created and protected for the patient and public voice to be heard in the work of the CGG at all levels.
