Catherine has over 20 years of experience providing labor and employment advice to employers on a broad range of issues involving drug testing, criminal background testing, ADA reasonable accommodation, employee discipline and terminations in multiple jurisdictions. Catherine conducts on-site employee training on a variety topics, including union avoidance and sexual harassment, and is experienced in conducting internal investigations involving misconduct and wage and hour audits. Catherine is also experienced in drafting employee policies and agreements, including non-disclosure and non-competition agreements. Catherine's litigation practice includes defense of employers against state and federal administrative complaints and employment litigation stemming from civil rights claims, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, workers' compensation retaliation and wage and hour issues. She has experience representing public employers, including public schools and the Commonwealth of Kentucky, defending First Amendment-based and Section 1983 actions. She has worked extensively with nonprofit entities that receive federal funding.
