I am the Global Natural Climate Solutions (NCS) Strategy Manager at The Nature Conservancy, with a current focus on leading the global peatlands strategy and team. I work with global, regional, and local teams to collaboratively unlock equitable and durable opportunities to conserve and restore peatlands and their benefits for climate, water, biodiversity, and people. My career at TNC has focused on strategy development and implementation for local and global conservation efforts and NCS, focusing on forests and wetlands.Prior to joining the global climate team, I worked in TNC’s Kentucky Chapter on community-based urban watershed conservation in Louisville, KY. This included leading a partnership designing the largest urban stream and wetland restoration project in the U.S., paired with a community-designed linear park, and managing a groundbreaking study connecting urban tree canopy and human health. Before joining TNC, I worked in eco-consulting as a professional wetland scientist, focusing on environmental compliance related to wetlands and streams (delineations, permitting, and mitigation banking), threatened and endangered species, and environmental impact assessments.I hold a Master of Environmental Management from Duke University, with a concentration in ecosystem science and conservation and a specialization in wetlands ecology and management, and a Bachelor of Science from Furman University in Biology and Earth and Environmental Sciences. My research focused on amphibians and biogeochemistry in urban wetlands and streams.
