The fact that I couldn’t figure out whether I was left or right brained should have been my first clue as to which one I was! I finally discovered a term that describes the equal balance I have both interest and aptitude-wise in things creative and analytical: whole brained. It's been hard to find a satisfying career when you're whole brained - the working world seems to fill their companies with roles for people with predominantly one type of brain or the other. However, I have been lucky to find several roles that are very well suited to a whole-brained person – entrepreneur and product management, which is very much like bring an entrepreneur inside an organization. I believe knowledge acquired will always be useful at some point in time and that “creativity” is simply taking a different approach than has been done before. The more knowledge you have about diverse subjects, the more likely it is that a new approach to something will evolve out of your thinking. It seems to work for me anyway.
