After leaving corporate America for the rigors of being a stay-at-home mom, my dreams of becoming an inspirational writer/author and speaker began to come true in late 2003. To date, I have spoken across the United States to groups large and small, secular and spiritual. I have appeared on radio and television, and been interviewed by publications as diverse as Money Magazine and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. To date, I have published "Hungry Souls: What the Bible Says About Eating Disorder"​ as a book and Bible study. I have also contributed to two other books (Uncommon Beauty by Cynthia Heald and Praise Reports: Volume 2).After much prayer, I recently left a corporate job to return to ministry, focusing on how the body of Christ can meet the needs of those who struggle with mental health issues. The new ministry is called Outside In: Bringing the Mentally Ill Into the Body of Christ. Additional details about this ministry are and will be available as a separate position on this page.I am still working on a memoir titled "Little House on the Cul-de-Sac," and have a blog series by the same name. I have several other books in my pipeline, but am spending most of my time currently on research and writing for Outside In.

Mental health issues impact 1 in 5 Americans. Obtaining the necessary medical and practical help is often a challenging process. Too often, people with mental health issues are excluded or marginalized from the body of Christ, due to the stigma associated with mental illness.Outside In Ministries has been founded to bring the mentally ill into the Body of Christ. The individuals within our faith communities who experience mental illness are just as much a part of the Body of Christ as those who do not experience mental illness. This ministry exists to educate and help individuals and faith communities find practical ways to help with the unique needs associated with mental illness. The Vision: that every person will find their place and role within the body of Christ. Ultimately, the negative impacts of mental illness will be reduced when those who struggle have their needs met with love, not rejection. Imagine a world where every person who seeks after God is included in the body of Christ.
