IB Diploma Programme Instructor for the ESS (Environmental Systems and Societies) course. 11th & 12th grade students explore environmental systems such as aquatic, soil and atmospheric-and the human impact on our planet, biodiversity and health of these systems. As a science teacher at Sutton Middle School, it was my responsibility to utilize Google Classroom and Chromebooks to create a personalized learning environment for students that aligned with IB (International Baccalaureate) values. As the coach of the 6th grade running club, I coached athletes who had little to no experience with long distance running in order to encourage them to sign up for modified cross-country or track and field. Instilling a sense of hard work ethic and team work was practiced on a daily basis.

As the freshman and modified cross country/track and field coach, I was responsible for designing workouts and supervising continuous runs for athletes in grades 7-9. The workouts I created prepared athletes for competing in dual, council and invitational meets and competitions. On race day, I coached and guided athletes in order for them to perform to the best of their ability. Instilling a sense of hard work ethic and team work was practiced on a daily basis.

After elementary school hours, I ensured that a 7 year old student with Down syndrome got off the bus safely. I was also responsible for assisting the child with homework and other academic needs. Once work was completed, I was fully responsible for meeting all physical and emotional needs of the child until the parents returned home. At the end of each week, I was required to fill out a time sheet and checklist of the care I provided to the child. Any-Time Home Care, Inc. provides an allotted amount of respite care hours for families with children who have disabilities.
