My career is driven by my belief that all technology is deeply human. I enjoy observing how culture and human behavior influence startup and venture capital ecosystems, and vice versa. As Gobi Partners’ Head of Content, I do that by helping to tell the stories behind Gobi and its portfolio companies. Founded in 2002, Gobi is a pan-Asian venture capital firm that now counts over 380 startups in its portfolio and has $1.6 billion in AUM. Those are just the numbers behind Gobi's strong focus on social impact and ESG principles, like sustainability, inclusion and supporting women founders. Before joining Gobi, I worked with tech companies across APAC to craft and execute content strategies as The PR Group’s Director of Content and Media. That followed more than a decade as a senior reporter at TechCrunch covering the tech industry in Asia and putting it into context for international markets. I wrote about almost all markets, but my specialty was Taiwan, Southeast Asia and Australia/New Zealand.I first covered tech by writing about startups at the Taipei Times, where I reported on entrepreneurship, culture and policy in Taiwan. My work has also appeared in publications like the New York Times, the Economist Intelligence Unit, Barron’s and the Village Voice. I speak and read Mandarin, and collect new vocabulary words like they're Pokémon. When I’m not working, I’m knitting, hiking or spending time with my daughter, my husband and our two weird cats.
