ResearcherBoys' And Girls' Clubs Of Wales Feb 2014 - Sep 2015Cardiff, United KingdomResearching the history of the organisation and their clubs in South Wales.Recently applied for a Heritage Lottery Young Roots Project Grant. When some people think about history it doesn’t fill them with excitement, but when you throw in iPads and other recording equipment it might change their minds. I would like to hold a couple of training sessions, with professionals from the industry, for at least 10 youth leaders. In these sessions the youth leaders will learn a basic knowledge of how to film off devices like iPads and iPhones, how to edit, interviewing techniques, archiving and how to present the work effectively through social media. They then can help me by visiting the 10 chosen clubs and teaching these skills to the youth of the clubs. Not only will they be learning new and important skills, they will also learn the history of their clubs in a fun and enjoyable way. The clubs are a part of their lives and the clubs history is their history. They should learn to be proud of it and understand its importance to survive within the community. -
