As the Online Security Manager at Cornerstones Education, I manage, maintain and improve our Information Security Management System, ensure compliance with relevant data protection legislation and security policies, and ensure continuing certification against ISO 27001. My responsibilities include:- Lead auditor for ISO 27001 (internal audits)- Supplier security and management- Risk management and assessment- Internal Security and Awareness training programme.- Monitoring and measurement of the ISMS- Continuing improvements to the ISMSI have built and now maintain our company intranet on SharePoint and designed and automated processes using PowerAutomate. I am responsible for identifying and improving systems and processes across the company. I also work with our development team to design new features, test changes, and ensure that all developments are secure and controlled and that customers are unaffected where possible. Another part of my role is to support the Customer lifecycle to ensure systems and processes are running smoothly and offer expert guidance if required. As part of my role, I have undertaken various Management training, ISO 27001 implementation training, BSI internal auditor training (ISO 27001), ISC2 Certified in Cyber Security and a GDPR foundation course.

I work in Customer Service team answering questions and making sure our Schools are happy and have the support that they need. I also help with sales and dispatch of our curriculum and creating and proofreading music based resources for our schools.My specialism is our suite of online platforms, Cornerstones ID, Cornerstones Hub, Cornerstones Support and Cornerstones Assessment. I work as part of a small team on the day to day running, managing users and resources, answering queries and offering technical and curriculum support to our 30,000 users. I also help advise schools on Assessment, speaking and advising Headteachers and Senior Leadership Teams on manipulating their data and reporting, as well as working to develop and on the day to day running of our Assessment platform with our Managing Director.I also create promotional videos, and how to videos for the company. I recorded the audio, visuals, compose the music and create the videos using Garage Band and Camtasia.

I work in the Operations and Customer Service team answering questions and making sure our Schools are happy and have the support that they need. I provide technical support for teachers with our specially designed resource centre - The Hub, and also help with sales and dispatch of our curriculum, and creating and proofreading music based resources for our schools.

In February 2016 I took up my first conducting job as Musical Director of Deepcar Brass Band. We rehearse twice a week in Deepcar and have a wide range of concerts, contests and other events throughout the year. Since taking on the job we have achieved promotion to the 3rd section after 5th, 4th and 6th places consecutively at the regional area competition (the best results in the band's history). After a 2nd place in our first entertainment contest, we’ve gone one to compete at the Bolsover Festival of Brass year on year. As a flexible employer I was expected to be able to take on numerous roles and jobs, for example catering work, bar work, office work or cleaning duties. I completed work for a small online business, helping with orders and widening my knowledge of the software ‘Sage’ which I used previously in the accountants.

My responsibilities varied from day to day. I learnt how to balance working in several different areas at once whilst keeping all the customers happy, as I was expected to be able to work behind the bar, reception, behind the scenes and occasionally on the floor to help large bookings or events run smoothly.

I volunteered for an 8 week teaching placement in China as part of the Fired Up Corporation Summer School. This is an annual Music Summer Camp for the local community of Nan’tao town in southern China. This involved planning and running classes and workshops for the children, individual instrumental tuition, and organising a professional production for the local community involving over 150 children and volunteers. The placement helped me develop my skills as a teacher and organisation, but most importantly communication.

I worked alongside the Financial Director and Accountant of the company in a small office environment, dealing with accounts for five different hotels. I dealt with customers from companies of various sizes via phone and email, and inputted monthly BACs invoices and credit notes onto Sage. I started just doing a week’s work experience, and then went on to do paid holiday work before leaving to go to University

I worked with a team of waiting-on staff to provide quality service in the restaurant. I worked with the chefs to prepare food, put together starters and desserts before my shift and tidy and clean after my shift. We had to adapt to the occasion, be it a buffet, full meal, appetisers, weddings or large company events. I later went on to work in reception and housekeeping expanding my knowledge of the day to day runnings of the hotel, and dealing with customers in different situations
