Catherine is a highly skilled media and communications professional with more than 20 years’ experience in journalism, strategic public and stakeholder communications, government and public relations, campaign planning and execution.She has worked with and provided strategic advice to some of South Australia’s biggest and most trusted brands including State Government, BankSA, SAHMRI, Adelaide City Council, National Heart Foundation, Repromed, Statewide Super and State Theatre Company South Australia, advising and/or leading all aspects of external and internal stakeholder communications and engagement.As Stakeholder Relations and Philanthropy Manager at State Theatre Company South Australia, Catherine is responsible for leading a small development team to oversee and effectively manage: Engagement, Annual Philanthropy, Major Gifts and Giving Circles, Trusts and Foundations, Events, Donor and Partner Communications, Research and Reporting, Information Management and Advocacy. She has been tasked with developing and maintaining strong and productive relationships with key stakeholders, including funders and donors, via planned strategic communications, events and engagement opportunities. As senior member of the State Premier’s media team, Catherine provided high-level strategic advice to State ministers, ministerial staff, chief executives, public servants and stakeholder groups. She has worked on day-to-day communications, both proactive and reactive, as well a significant outcome-focused campaigns, including around the lobbying for submarine work and Australia’s Space Agency. Catherine has solid knowledge of and experience in the portfolio areas of: Defence & Space Industries, Trade & Investment, Small Business, Health Industries, Economic Transformation.As a PR consultant she worked with corporate clients in a range of areas including health and banking and finance. As a journalist, Catherine worked on both metropolitan daily and weekly newspapers for more than 10 years, based in Adelaide. Her reporting rounds were as diverse as federal and state politics, local government and features.Catherine works confidently with all organisational levels, internal teams, with senior corporate and government stakeholders.A children’s author, her picture book about Australia’s Aboriginal soldiers was named National Book of the Year for Aboriginal Children in the prestigious 2019 Speech Pathology Australia awards. In recognition of its educational value, the book was also added to the 2019 SA Premier’s Reading Challenge book list.
