As the Manager of Economic Development and Housing, I am responsible for directing, managing, and overseeing the operations of the Community Development Authority (CDA). This includes the coordination of economic development, housing, and community development programs falling under the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).Key Responsibilities:Assume management responsibility for CDA programs/services, HUD programs/services, and activities, including economic and community development, compliance, and the development of related policies and procedures.Manage, develop, and implement CDA goals, objectives, policies, and priorities for each assigned service area. Establish appropriate service and staffing levels within City policy and allocate resources accordingly.Provide leadership and vision to advance the economic development strategies and initiatives of the community.Support and lead business retention and expansion programs that reinforce the City’s established primary industry base.Advocate for the CDA to promote expanded economic development in the community.Direct and manage the administrative functions of the CDA, overseeing the development of staff resources.Manage staff to serve as the collective impact backbone organization for the citywide economic development strategy.In summary, my role involves comprehensive management of CDA programs, HUD initiatives, and economic development strategies to enhance the overall well-being and prosperity of the community.
