Hired as sole staff person with the responsibility of establishing a Family Resource Centre. Built the services from 2 core weekly programs to current 26 programs, while establishing bylaws, policies, and a Board of Directors. Responsible for the process of establishing the EHFRC as a non-profit society, and subsequently a recognized charitable organization. Staff has risen to 5, including full and part-time program assistants. Currently, under the direction of the Board, I am responsible for all aspects of EHFRC operation, including:*supervising, facilitating and implementing programs and services;*marketing and promoting programs;*recruiting, managing and supervising employees and volunteers;*seeking funding grants and development opportunities;*creating partnerships and initiatives with other community groups and businesses that provide mutual benefit and community impact.

My responsibilities included:*Working with the Board, schools and community partners assessing learning needs in the community, and initiating appropriate programs in response.*Arranging instructors and resources for Community Education programs; providing organizational and informational support to both Adult High School and Regional Summer School programs.*Effectively marketing and promoting CCRSB Community Education programs and related partnerships.*Facilitating programs, including healthy eating workshops, and Physical Activity Leadership programs to elementary schools in the Nova Family of Schools.

*Responsible for the day-to-day management, planning, implementation and administration of all EHALA facilities, programs and services, including Adult Education and the Community Transport services.*Supervised staff and volunteers.*Secured funding for all programs from government and community agencies.

Columnist/Editor, writing and creating long running weekly Lifestyle section columns: "Because I Said So" parenting column, "Life in the Cheap Lane" and "Budget Bon Vivant" consumer columns, and "KidLit" children's book review column. Most of these columns also appeared in Ontario and Atlantic Canadian newspapers and publications. Also wrote "Coffee with Cathy" for 3 years, which saw personal profiles of business, political and entertainment leaders, as well as people who found themselves suddenly in the limelight.
