Cathy Walker currently serving as President of the American Community Gardening Association. Formally served as Metro Atlanta Urban Farm Director of Programs and Garden Specialist for The University of Georgia Cooperative Extension/Atlanta Urban Gardening Program (AUGP); offering gardening instruction and support to some two hundred gardens located at public housing complexes, shelters, schools, churches and elder care facilities in metro Atlanta. Ms. Walker is one of the leading females in Urban Agriculture has spent the last thirteen years pioneering inter-city agriculture in the metro Atlanta area. As one of the driving forces in the Atlanta Urban Gardening Leadership Association monthly meeting, she organizes, plans, implement professional workshops and skillful agendas. These meeting are design to give inter-city gardeners an opportunity to learn more about community gardening, leadership skills. There is also a chance to fellowship with others who have the same interest and most of all an outreach to the homeless community that feeds about three homeless men once a month.Ms. Walker is a true pioneer in the Urban Agriculture/Greening Movement.
