15+ years experience in Marketing, Public Relations, Events Management and Fundraising. Served as the Associate Director of Development for Athletics as a member of the University Advancement Department. For 6+ years I served as Assistant Collegiate Athletic Director and Senior Woman Administrator where I oversaw department events, sports management, media relations and operational logistics. I am a sophisticated marketer and experienced in managing all types of events/conferences from large scale public events with 50,000+ attending to elegant dinners at the college president's home. What I really have a passion for is problem solving with a heavy dose of human interaction. I’m not a desk jockey. I enjoy working together with people from diverse backgrounds. I grew up as a ‘third-culture’ kid, raised all over the world. For this reason, I also thrive in a start-up culture. My success comes from my ability to pull together a group of diverse people to bring an idea to life, from planning to execution, whether its hosting an NCAA Regional Championship, developing and launching a website, holding a golf tournament, or a fundraising event, nailing the deadline on a complicated mailing, or producing a large scale promotional event in a major city.I truly enjoy the whole planning and execution process either for a new initiative, a major event or project – breaking it down, anticipating needs, developing a budget, creating the plan, documenting for proof of performance, forming alliances and partnerships, getting buy-in, solving the problems, making it happen – and then conducting the post-mortem analysis. Wherever I work I always want to make a positive impact to our stakeholders and find opportunities to learn and grow.I’m considering new opportunities and wanting to build my network on Linked In so please send me a connection request or email me directly on cathymcd@pacbell.net.
