I've worked in medical transcription most of my career, particularly pathology and radiology. However, my duties have evolved over time into more administrative and quality assurance responsibilities including monitoring workflows, managing schedules, maintaining office equipment, ordering supplies, handling incoming calls, e-mails, and mail, serving as custodian of records for subpoena processing, preparing sendouts, serving as the point person between the pathology department and the physicians and patients we serve, flagging key data and generating monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, capturing data and performing data entry into the California Cancer Registry and Medicare Merit-Based Incentive Payments System, working with pathologists to update policy and procedure manuals, and acting as trouble shooter and department interface with IT for computer-related department issues.  I am an active learner. I obtained my Bachelors degree in Business Administration in 2008, focusing on Marketing and Supply Chain Management, which included coursework in quality and project management and IT systems. Post graduation, I took a 1-year Lean Operations Administration certification program through APICS. I also hold both Life and Health insurance licenses and was a former registered financial representative. In 2018-2019, I participated in the Landmark Forum and their 9-month Curriculum for Living. While my current position provides quality management opportunities, my community involvement over the years has allowed me numerous project management and leadership opportunities as Girl Scout Leader and Boy Scout Troop Committee Chairperson, as well as coordinator of Kid Ability, a child sexual abuse prevention programs for which I wrote and received a grant, Odyssey of the Mind, a program for developing high-level thinking skills in children, and prior to the pandemic, I created and coordinated a program to bring free CPR training to low-income communities, a program titled Life Can Change in a Heartbeat. My careers, college experience, and community involvement, have taught me to be resourceful. I am by nature data driven, analytical, and a problem solver with a good head for numbers. My job is to make your job easier through exceptional investigative, quality and customer-focused initiatives and by bringing a collaborative, team-oriented approach to the table.
