Conducting maintenance and repairs on Collins Class Submarines Electrical systems in association with Australian Submarine Corporation (ASC).As an employee of Chandler Macleod, I have worked within ASC (Formerly the Australian Submarine Corporation) using my already existing in depth knowledge of Collins Class Submarines and marine systems to provide safe, time effective work on board multiple Australian submarine platforms and shore based facilities. My aim is to provide the best service to ASC and to maintain Australia's frontline submarines to world class performance and quality standards.Description of Duties:- Perform Conditioning Discharges of main storage batteries through Shore services.- Conduct gassing charges of main storage batteries.- Perform Boost charges on 24V DC Back up batteries.- Hazardous Area work with Battery Instrumentation sensors and Monitoring systems inspection and replacements.- Ventilation Servicing and Maintenance.- Performed Twin cell millivolt test under load.- Twin cell cleans, electrolyte top ups and inspections.- Conduct air flow tests on Main storage batteries Agitation system.- Carry out bus bar torque tests, replacements and inspections.- Performed Charging cable maintenance and inspections.- Liaise with ship staff on work to be conducted.- Carry out Confined space entry’s and Sentry duties.- Use of appropriate ASC documentation and procedures.- Performing safe and effective work with lead based hazardous materials.- Extensive use with Tag out and permit to work systems.- Conducting regular confined space work.
