Howdy! Currently I teach at Ida B. Wells-Barnett High School in Portland, Oregon. I am involved in a variety of initiatives that focus on connecting young people with technology and professionals. My biggest projects right now are further developing our 4-year high school computer science curriculum, participating on the PPS CTE Master Planning committee, piloting the interdisciplinary CTE pathways program for my district and training K-12 teachers with Code.org.I have a broad background in professional, academic and educational fields which supports my ability to develop engaging curriculum that is relevant to my students. I still occasionally do development work (AI, designing financial models, etc.) and I am working on a few secret projects for my classroom!I have been honored with the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching, recognized as a Paul Allen Distinguished Educator and selected as the Oregon Technology Educator of the Year.
Listed skills include Teaching, Curriculum Development, Curriculum Design, Public Speaking, and 41 others.
