Principal utility telecom engineer, responsible for engineering high-availability, mission-critical networks for delivery of Teleprotection, SCADA, Voice/LMR and data services via packet-based networks (IP/MPLS). Also Senior Telecom Engineer & System Planner - Oil & Gas, Pipeline, Rail, and Government / Municipal networks. As a Principal of SCI Networks and engineering consultant, our goal is deployment of next-generation utility telecom networks including implementation of converged architecture and migration to IP/MPLS technology. We are pioneers in the deployment of high-voltage teleprotection using MPLS and pseudo-wire transport and are specialists in the deployment of IP/MPLS technology using Nokia (Alcatel-Lucent) equipment (7x50 SR, 7705-SAR, and 7210 with NSP management platform). Current Projects- Wide-scale utility transformation projects utilizing IP/MPLS for next-generation network migration - Transition program to packet-based microwave radio (Aviat IRU-600, Nokia 9500-MPR / Wavence radios)- Implementation of Nokia 1830-DWDM platform (100GigE, 10GigE services, metro & long-haul)- Creating & updating technical (engineering) standards- Implementing wide-area network synchronization plan using 1588v2 and GPS PRS clocks- Project planning - requirements gathering, solution architecture, project logistics (Owner's Engineer role)Specialties: Planning, engineering, and construction of mission-critical telecommunication and data networks for electric utilities, oil & gas and rail sector industries.
