As a driven community catalyst for over fifteen years I’ve come across pragmatic international leaders and collaborated with powerful grassroots coalitions as an environmental justice advocate. Inspired by people centered movements I launched a network for women seeking equitable representation in all levels of life & government, the Goaldiggers Club. This network has given me the ability to support & elect women of color into public office in local municipal, statewide, congressional and presidential campaigns, and most recently judicial, cook county subcircuit campaign, with winning results. In my former role as an Administrative Manager for the City of Berwyn, my background in Human Resources & first hand knowledge in Union Labor Relations provided me with a unique holistic approach to employee empowerment practices and techniques. This has been a vital life-experience tool in my communication design connecting over 9 municipal departments, with over 500 employees. Most recently, I have been charged with developing and executing a citywide employee Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Training program alongside Berwyn 7th Ward Alderperson Mary Beth Arenella, who chairs the city's aldermanic committee. This opportunity will allow me to put in place a comprehensive but empowering and practical workforce development program for all city of Berwyn employees. My personal and professional commitment to political self determination awarded me the humbling opportunity to become a published author in 2019 via international publisher Fig Factor Media, Today’s Inspired Latina Vol V., along with incredibly accomplished international network of diverse women. I serve the City of Berwyn, Office of the Mayor Robert J. Lovero, as City Communications Division Director, and as 16th District Commissioner for the Cook County Commission on Women's Issues for Cook County President Toni Preckwinkle. I was appointed to this role by 16th District Cook County Commissioner Frank J. Aguilar in 2021. In 2022, in an effort to unify the 16th District as Women’s Issues Commissioner, and further promote and expand on the great work of the Cook County Commission on Women’s Issues (CCCWI), I created the Annual 16th District Women’s Power Brunch, to celebrate Women’s HerStory Month and the CCCWI annual Peggy A. Montes Unsung Heroine, within the district. The conference has convened more than 160 female elected officials together for this event over the past two years. My story is just beginning and my journey captured via the hashtag #theclaudiachronicles
