I have worked for Prince George's County Schools for the past 10 years. Throughout those years I have taught many different grade levels, including first, second, fourth, and fifth. At times I was in a self-contained classroom and others I was departmentalized and served as the reading and language arts teacher. This allowed me to find my passion and hone in on my expertise in reading education leading me to my current position as a Reading Instructional Lead Teacher. I now have the pleasure of coaching elementary teachers on best practices, use of curriculum, and the use of supplemental resources. Over the last couple of years in this position I have learned a wealth of information about the Science of Reading and been trained on many programs from companies like Curriculum Associates, Amplify, Benchmark Advance, and Houghton Mifflin.
