My responsibilities included providing training and technical assistance (TA) to primary care practices who have implemented HealthySteps or are considering implementation of the model. Training included developing and facilitating monthly Community of Practice calls and researching topics, scheduling speakers, and coordinating annual Professional Development to HealthySteps Specialists in the state of Colorado. TA included supporting sites with model fidelity, billing and sustainability, data collection and reporting, and quality implementation of all core components of the model. As part of the small ABCD team, I also helped to develop the organization’s charter which includes providing thoughtful feedback on creating the Mission, Vision, Values, Goals and the messaging strategy to the community and partners. I also played a role in developing organizational policy, procedure, workflow, data collection and reporting and provide input on creating training manuals.

My responsibilities include planning, developing, implementing and coordinating special programs designed to coordinate access to care for underserved populations through the Community Health department. This also includes that implementation of policies and practices related to such programs and maintaining budget and tracking expenditures/transactions. Primary responsibilities are to develop and execute the implementation of the Health Start program including hiring, training and supporting Community Health Workers.

My responsibilities included supervising six Family Support Specialists (FSS), two of which are also Family Assessment Workers (FAW) using the reflective supervision approach. In addition to this I was responsible for ensuring that staff were held accountable for their responsibilities including documentation, practicing model fidelity, and meeting their monthly numbers. In my short employment with the county, I had experienced high-level training which included training for my role as Program Supervisor along with training and performing job responsibilities for the roles that I supervised including FAW/FSS. I assisted in the preparation a state required site visit within my first two months on the job.

My responsibilities at the State of Arizona Governor’s Office of Youth, Faith and Family included oversight of and grant reporting for the federally funded Pregnancy Assistance Fund (PAF) grant awarded to the State of Arizona through the Office of Population Affairs (formerly Office of Adolescent Health). I also staff the Governor’s Child Safety and Empowerment Council chaired by the First Lady, Mrs. Angela Ducey and the workgroups of the council. ● The PAF is a roughly 1 million dollar grant that is implemented two sub-grantees in which I oversee the reporting aspects of the research, data collection, service and sustainability components of the grant.● I support the Child Safety and Empowerment Council and its work groups by providing direction to adhere to open meeting law policies, ensuring meeting minutes and agendas are completed and posted in a timely manner, and making sure all meetings are scheduled and set up.● I am assigned by the Director of the Governor’s Office of Youth, Faith and Family to participate in various community impact and improvement work groups that are charged to take on a systems approach to fill the gaps in the child welfare and family support arena.● I embrace the Arizona Management System as a continuous quality improvement and customer service model.

As the HealthySteps Coordinator I supervised a team of three HealthySteps Specialists (HSS) by providing them guidance towards adhering to model fidelity, reflective supervision with family cases and supporting them in reaching their individual professional development goals. I was a member of the site’s outcomes research project with the national HealthySteps office and contracted research team. This project required me to speak of our site’s daily implementation of key program pillars, discussing the use of our database and electronic medical system (EMS) and finding opportunities to use data for continuous quality improvement.● Provided reflective supervision and performance evaluations to three HSS’s● Designed and provided in-service trainings to HSSs during monthly team meetings● Developed reports needed from the new EMS to provide programmatic data required by grant funders and the research team● Evaluate database needs of maintaining accurate records and reports and present requests to our database manager for database upgrades

As the Lead HealthySteps Specialist I practiced and supported the HealthySteps team in developing relationships with parents and medical staff to increase their understanding of child development, behavior and early literacy promotion. I was responsible for the delivery of program components of Newborn Behavioral Observations, home and well child visits for the birth through five year old population in the community by ensuring staff coverage as well as delivering these services myself. I also offered continued support and leadership to HealthySteps team in their professional development goals and growth.● Lead reporting efforts consistent with grant funding partner and HealthySteps reporting requirements, including database conceptual development and reporting● Represented the HealthySteps Program and Summit Healthcare Regional Medical Center in meetings,collaborations, outreach events and community partnerships● Redesigned the local Child Abuse Prevention Coalition and outreached to community partners to increase attendance and participation from four members to over fifteen members.

I work to increase coordination and collaboration among home visitation service providers in the Pinal Region. This coordination of resources and supporting sustainable relationships within the communities allowed me to increase visibility of home visitation programs in the county. I lead and co-lead multiple coalitions in the county that work to identify service gaps and increase professional supports in the areas of family support, domestic violence, substance abuse and more. This includes developing opportunities for professional development and training for service providers and families, including an annual conference.
