I worked with people with a diagnosed mental health issues to help them return to meaningful employment. I worked as part of a multidisciplinary team in a NHS mental health outpatient unit in Sutton. I also worked as an employment adviser for the Croydon Health and Employment Partnership (CHEP) that worked with the long-term unemployed in deprived areas in Croydon.

My role involved promoting the nextstep service - a free careers advice service for adults - to different agencies across London, including the public sector, such as Jobcentre Plus, and many different organisations that had an invested interest in working with adult groups, such as colleges, A4E, Remploy and Business Link. I also developed extensive links with government departments such as the Ministry of Justice and the Office for National Statistics, and was able to negotiate an outplacement service to help with their departmental redundancies.It was also my responsibility to head up a redundancy team to go into companies shedding employees. My team supported individuals going through redundancy - helping them to identify a new career direction or locate jobs in similar fields. By helping them to recognise their skills, experience and motivations, we worked intensively to get employees ready for their employment transition.

• Managed the implementation and development of Skills Coaching - an intensive Adult Guidance Service across London Boroughs.• To lead a team of advisers to help companies going through a redundancy situation.• Responsible for attainment of delivery targets. Successfully attained 125% of target.• Managed a budget of £350,000, plus £55,000 on a capacity build for project.• Created an effective client referral system with many different organisations, including Jobcentre Plus, colleges and community groups.• Chaired steering groups and team meetings, producing monthly reports to LSC.• Developed and delivered training programs to meet the needs of Skills Coaches.

I worked in many schools and other settings in South London, where I worked along side youth to help them in the career planning.I also worked intensively with adults, especially the long-term unemployed.
