As the first employee of Commonplace, a new podcast created by poet Rachel Zucker, I help to strategize and execute bi-weekly and special seasonal episodes, which include feature interviews and features with the Undocumented Poets movement, the Canaries Art Collective, Cave Canem, and more.

My department assists over 100 clients in the progressive political space with their email list-building efforts, including candidates like John Fetterman and non-profits such as Planned Parenthood. We assist with copywriting, message and subject line testing, and data analytics, and are constantly seeking and reaching out to potential new clients.KEY ACCOMPLISHMENTS:Consistently generate over $2 million in revenue for the company each yearAssist with the creation of a full marketing kit for the department, including a pitch deck and rate sheetHelp test and launch new products for clients, such as our paid swaps programRun A/B message and subject line testing for clients; report findings to help them better strategize campaigns and fundraising effortsServe as an active member of Daily Kos’ Equity Council and plan quarterly DEI panels with outside speakers for the company

At Noodle, I was promoted from the role of Community Editor/Manager to Senior Strategist for Insights. My role required that I grow our Education Expert Community, which consisted of teachers, nurses, pedagogical researchers, and others in the education field. To better develop our app and content, I frequently conducted one-on-one interviews, focus groups, and surveys with our community. I worked closely with other editors to discover new and upcoming voices in the poetry community, especially those from marginalized groups, and helped with the production of each issue of the journal from start to finish.

I designed and taught undergraduate course titled Intro to Creative Writing, with focus on contemporary poetry and fiction, featuring authors such as Don Mee Choi, Sharon Olds, Rachel Zucker, and Tommy Pico. In addition, I mentored and tutored my students in creative writing practices, from fostering creativity to encouraging radical revision exercises.

As a work-study grantee, I worked in the creative writing department at NYU, helping to create and manage the @NYUCWP Twitter account and marketing plans for various social media platforms, including Instagram.

While in graduate school, I served as the university's creative writing journal's editor-in-chief; a position that I was voted into by a majority of my classmates. During my tenure, I had the great honor of directing the vision of the journal and overseeing all details of its production.

As a fellowship winner at NYU, I was afforded the wonderful opportunity of working at Mount Sinai hospital as a creative writing arts therapist. I delivered creative writing arts therapy to pediatric patients, especially those in oncology division, developed games and writing exercises for children and adults ages 5-21 and their parents, and guest hosted in-hospital television game show, “WordPlay”—this is how I learned I am a natural on camera and love media engagements.

At Guernica, I worked directly with Editors-in-Chief Michael Archer and Joel Whitney to develop partnerships with the Brooklyn Public Library, Salon Magazine, and more; I also finalized partnerships with local universities and EBSCO to share content and develop revenue streams. To broaden our readership, I organized monthly public meetups and spearheaded programming of contributor readings alongside my traditional editorial duties of fact-checking, copyediting, and vetting unsolicited poetry submissions.

At the prestigious Metropolitan Museum of Art, I was responsible for a special audience development initiative called The College Group at the Met, which developed programming for college students in the New York City metropolitan area. To assist with this work, I recruited, advised, and collaborated with a team of 25 interns from the College Group Committee and the Mentoring Program for College Juniors.KEY ACCOMPLISHMENTS:Organized events and publicity for The College Group at the Met, with audiences of up to 2,500 guests and annual budget management of over $100,000Oversaw all details of event, including hiring outside vendorsActed as spokesperson for press-related inquiries and campus visitsAssisted with Multicultural Audience Development Initiative events, including overseeing marketing materials/newslettersGeneral public relations work, including press releases, social media promotion, and e-mail outreach
