I have recently earned a Master of Education in Sport and Exercise Psychology through Springfield College. My passion for the optimization of mental wellness and performance of athletes sparked during my time as a student-athlete at Washington State University. As a leader of the Crimson Girls Dance Team for 2 years, I was able to recognize the need for implementation and improvement in mental skills training for all student-athletes regardless of the sport they compete in. Whether you are the starting quarterback or a cheerleader on the sidelines, a performer is a performer and can always benefit from learning how to manage their stress, increase motivation, and apply these skills (and MANY more) to their lives as they inevitably make their career transitions!Along with my 3 years as a member of the dance team and Washington State University, I have an additional 20 years of experience in the unique sport of dance. I was appointed to leadership and captain positions in middle school, high school, and college. I currently teach at a local dance studio and am an assistant coach for a high school dance team. These experiences have shaped my fierce passion for leadership development and what it takes to strengthen existing qualities and awareness to become a more influential leader in life and sports. I am looking forward to furthering my experience in leadership development and performance enhancement with the utilization of mental skills in athlete populations.In addition to my current graduate studies, I am also employed full-time by St. Luke's Health System as a Patient Access Specialist 3 in their Neurosciences department. I am working toward advocating for the expansion of Performance Psychology in Sports Medicine and Behavioral Health as a future Mental Performance Consultant. I am always seeking opportunities to share my knowledge in areas related to this growing field.
