Principal Program Manager
(continuation of role started in August 2011, promoted to Principal in September 2015)Principal Program Manager for Azure Storage, focused on driving efficiency while maintaining our customer promises. I drove our profitability efforts by working at the intersection of engineering, capacity planning, business planning (pricing), and operations, all from the role of Program Management. Working across these teams, I helped us achieve transformative improvements in our margins while dramatically improving our capacity story and becoming more competitive, thus delivering higher revenue as well. I worked across Microsoft at times, working with partners and internal adopters of Storage to help them make their own solutions more efficient, enabling greater competitiveness and reducing costs for the company. I managed a small team when the situation called for it, but spent most of my time as an individual contributor, but a recognized leader on the team.I also drove our team's cultural improvement efforts, taking feedback from the broader team to ensure that we were growing in not just diversity, but inclusion as well. This work challenged me to grow as an individual in understanding the working experience of women and minorities on the team, and advocate for them when I could. I'm an aspiring ally with a lot more to learn, and left this role in order to shift my career towards one of advocacy.
