Clinical Applications Analyst
Current• Plan, implement and evaluates EMR support needs for patient care operations according to own clinical judgment, policies, procedures, protocol and standards• Identifying and implementing solutions within the EMR that support more efficient and effective workflow based on knowledge of nursing functions and processes• Principal administrator of the Inpatient (CareNet) and Emergency (FirstNet) applications and serves as the key resource regarding system functionality.• Develops and manages all project plans for the deployment of new features and functionality and/or the resolution of technical issues found in the CareNet and FirstNet applications.• Use clinical knowledge to build, implement, and evaluate current Orders and Tasks, assure charges are dropping correctly and tasks are being dropped as necessary.• Utilize and integrate third party software, such as Zynx with Cerner’s software.• Provide training and reeducate for Nurses, Doctors, and ancillary staff.• Knowledge and comprehension of ICD-9• Build PowerForms, Powerplans, and PowerOrders to be used throughout the hospital by multiple departments• Build and Develop Care compass for nursing use• Analyze workflow and develop plan for change to workflow with implementation and use of EMR• Basic build and adjustment to charge services/rev cycle• Make decision decisions regarding Meaningful use (via bedrock) and staff education to ensure functionality measures are attainable as outlined by HITECH.• Establishes and maintains relationships at the appropriate level between Cerner, Area Hospitals, and end users, to resolve problems with the EMR and changes to the system, public policies, and legislation.
