My career didn't start at an unbelievably young age. Far from the truth, it began stumbling along, as if someone were determined to trip me up with every step I took. I got into the field of computer science by sheer luck. I wasn't very clear on what I wanted to do, and I had always liked computers (though more for playing video games than anything else).The journey was a huge pain and headache; I remember how we were taught programming using PowerPoint presentations and how we were examined with pen and paper. I barely lasted 6 months. Around that time, I was collaborating in a startup where, obviously, we were going to become millionaires. Once again, far from the truth, we ended up in legal battles with an investor who stopped paying our salaries.Being a "neither here nor there" (neither studying nor working) type, I decided to take control of my life. At that time, I was mainly involved in designing logos, branding, and posters - skills I had learned on my own and were being utilized for small clients. One thing led to another, and I started delving into web development, and this time I became enchanted by programming. I learned HTML, CSS, and JavaScript on my own, following online tutorials. As it should be.Seeing that I needed to delve deeper into programming, I enrolled in a programming module while working on small websites and projects. After completing the course with one of the top grades in the class, I began an internship at Autentia, where I still say I'm an intern after almost 5 years.In these 5 years, I've given courses, trainings, delivered numerous talks, and put products into production using the three major frameworks: React, Angular, and Vue, all under a mantra of code excellence and automated testing.Teaching and sharing what I know have always attracted me, so I dared to try being a teacher in a Fullstack Master's program for two courses. Not only that, but since 2018, the world of talks has been another pillar of my career, as I love giving presentations. I've given over 50 talks at more than a dozen national events, including Codemotion, JSDay Canarias, Software Crafters Barcelona, and many more that you can see on my website.This brings me to my latest adventure. In early 2023, I sold almost everything I had and got myself a 40L backpack to travel the world as a digital nomad. Telecommuting from co-living spaces throughout Europe (for now), I've been able to experience new cultures, connect with people, and live a unique journey.
