Since 2019 - International consultant mostly OCB (GEF Unit) but also other divisions.• Supporting the presentation of PIF, PPG and Programs to the GEF and operational projects support activities in: +15 countries in South America and Caribbean, +10 countries in Eastern Europe and Central Asia, 4 countries in Africa. My role was diverse: building (+50) Decision Support Systems and geospatial tools, preparing data analysis and strategies, (+40) capacity building activities, (+20) co-organizing workshops, monitoring and reporting, writing publications and documents, etc. • With OCB and Land team (NSL), I supported the implementation of the UNCCD convention in target setting and in PRAIS 4 reporting in (+20) countries, also with regional workshops in Central Asia, Eastern Europe, South America and the Caribbean.• In the Forestry unit (NFO) I contributed to the Global Forest Resource Assessment (RS) and mapping activities in Panama.• With the Investment Centre (CFI) I collaborated in the analysis on the EUDR impact for Argentina and Costa Rica.

Short term international consultant for specific projects:2024 - Through participatory workshops in Ecuador, the main goal achieved was to obtain the estimated SDG 15.3.1 indicator with an improved method from the previous PRAIS 4 report to be used in National Voluntary LDN Targets Setting process and Strategy.2023 – 1.- Capacity building on geo-spatial tools to strengthen the national team in Ethiopia under project Soil Protection and Rehabilitation for Food Security (ProSoil) of the GIZ. 2.- Strengthening national-level institutional and professional capacities of Panama towards enhanced UNCCD monitoring and Reporting. Organized workshops with MiAmbiente to build capacity on geo-spatial tools, supported the National data integration and PRAIS4 preparation with tools: https://www.wocat.net/en/ldn/wocatapps 2021 – Working with CACILM 2 Project in Kazakhstan. I co-developed a LDN Geo-Portal with soil information and tools to help validate national LPD products using expert knowledge. 2020 – Support the 5 countries in CACILM 2 project on LDN. This included calculating PRAIS indicators and capacity building in Google Earth Engine, QGIS, Trends.Earth, Collect Earth Online.

Head of the Geo-Informatic Department at the Center for the Semiarid Region integration of technology and disciplines to answer complex environmental (land and water) issues and early warning system. We built several tools for the central area region and research to contribute to with regional academic activities.

Land degradation consultant for 2 different periods of the “Land rehabilitation and rangelands management in smallholders’ agro-pastoral production systems in south western Angola”. I performed a LADA local assessment in the project communities and a remote sensing analysis using wavelets to analyze the persistent effects of droughts and land degradation impacts.
