I am currently a Manager of Learning Applications, with my team responsible for the maintenance and operation of Blackboard Learn for a number of higher education institutions. In addition to ensuring system performance and stability, I am also responsible for the development of custom tools to enhance and/or augment the features available to users in Blackboard Learn. Currently, all of our tools are Java-based building blocks, which are designed to run natively within Blackboard, but we are currently examining new tools leveraging the REST API and running on a variety of different platforms, including Java, Powershell, and Go.Prior to transitioning into my current role, I worked as an instructional technology specialist, administering the ANGEL Learning Management System, responsible for day-to-day application management and support, along with providing faculty training and support. Additionally, I assisted faculty with instructional design services to implement best practices in both their online and hybrid/blended courses.In addition to my experience working with higher education, I have also worked as a high school science teacher, and possess a permanent certification in NY for Physics 7-12. I was a recipient of a National Science Foundation grant to complete my graduate work at Arizona State University, focusing on inquiry-based techniques for teaching physics. Upon completion of my degree, I returned to Buffalo where I spent my summers as a Master Teacher at Buffalo State College in their teacher preparation program.Specialties: training, project analysis, support
