I am a Digital Learning Consultant on the Connected Learning team at XMA. Originally an additional support needs secondary school teacher, I have taught in schools in both Scotland and China (both in the state and independent sectors). I became an MIE (Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert) in 2017 and I am also an MIE Master Trainer and Microsoft Certified Educator (MCE). In January 2022, I became an Apple Professional Learning Specialist and support schools to make the most of Apple technologies in the classroom. I was awarded MIE Expert of the Year for Scotland 2019-20 and was selected as an MIE Fellow for Scotland for session 2020-2021.In September 2020, I was invited to join the Flip 'Accessibility and Inclusive Design' Advisory Board to work collaboratively with the Flip team to share ideas on how to make Fliptruly accessible to all. As an MIE Expert, I have championed the use of technology to support inclusion and accessibility through tools such as Flip, OneNote, Office Lens, Microsoft Teams to create the perfect accessibility toolkit for my students and colleagues through features such as Immersive Reader and Dictate. I am also hugely passionate about empowering and amplifying student voice and I have been both a Flip Student Voice Ambassador and a Flip Grid Guide. I am also a Wakelet Ambassador and Community Leader.I have showcased my work at several MIE events, presented a number of seminars and workshops at BETT 2020 and won a global education competition ran by Flipgrid to attend E2 Education Exchange in Sydney, Australia. I have also been a co-host for several of the #MSFTEduChat TweetMeets.When I am not working with educators, leaders and students, I enjoy cycling and playing board games with my 3 daughters. I am also a Cub Scout leader for the 150th Glasgow Scouts and a black tag at Tae Kwon Do.
