Software Engineer - Mobile Ecosystem
Current* Company formerly known as Ionic before being acquired *Before Acquisition (July 2021 - December 2023):As a Capacitor Core & Plugins Engineer, I significantly contributed to enhancing Capacitor's ecosystem, focusing on enterprise plugin development and core improvements:• Enterprise Plugins: Maintained and introduced new features for critical security plugin offerings, which includes Identity Vault (Biometrics), Secure Storage, and Intune. Contributed to the architecture and release of a Google Pay plugin and SSL Pinning plugin, and a comprehensive rewrite of Auth Connect to improve OAuth authentication processes. Fully undertook the development and architecture for the Zebra Scanner plugin.• Capacitor Supported Plugins: Contributed to the maintenance and feature enhancement of all official Capacitor plugins (Camera, Geolocation, Push Notifications, Splash Screen, etc). Contributed to the architecture and release of the Google Maps plugin with novel techniques for rendering a native component in-line with web components. Led the full architecture of the Cookies and Http plugins, introducing brand-new innovations in mitigating CORS restrictions in cross-platform apps and synchronous communication.• Core Contributions: Integrated SDK upgrades and platform adjustments to ensure Capacitor's continued synchronicity with mobile app standards and restrictions. Developed a POC for a full rewrite of Capacitor, incorporating revolutionary techniques for same-layer rendering and bridge communication.After Acquisition (January 2024 - Present):In my current role within Outsystems' mobile ecosystem team, I focus on enhancing the plugin offerings for our low-code environment. My contributions so far include architecting a Capacitor wrapper on the mobile platforms for the Barcode Scanning plugin and contributing to the migration of the Health & Fitness plugin from the deprecated Google Fit API to the Health Connect API.
