Environmental and resource management professional with hands on experience in agriculture, coastal and marine streams. Core of my work is in communications, research and development, where I have been lead and support for the implementation of both short and long term organisational strategies.Of recent, I was apart of the consultancy team that executed the evaluation of the implementation of Belize’s first Integrated Coastal Zone Management (ICZM) Plan. This work will contribute to the updating of the national Plan and will inform other Small Island Developing States (SIDS) of the best practices in both the configuration and implementation of an ICZM plan. In addition, I have carried out rapid studies to understand the impact of COVID-19 on agribusinesses in Belize and a socioeconomic study to understand the perceptions of fisheries stakeholders on the fisheries management reform policy from open access fishing to a rights-based fishing (managed access). Overall, I enjoy transforming the raw findings from studies into real life discussions that later form the basis for decision making. Equally, I am very fond of public speaking, and have delivered several talks about my own studies. Most recently, I have presented regionally at the 72nd GCFI Conference in Punta Cana, DR. I am recipient of several awards, including: a presenter award at the 72nd GCFI Conference, award of Scholarly Excellence (top performer of graduating programme) (UWI 2019), and recipient of Commonwealth Marines Economies Programme Scholarship (2018).
