CurrentStarted as a Detention Officer in January 1996, I began attending UNT Police academy in September 1996, finishing in June of 1997. I took the Peace officer exam in July of 1997. Sheriff Weldon Lucas began carrying my PO commission in September 1997. Sheriff Lucas began carrying my commission again after I left Hickory Creek PD. I was able to work extra duties as a deputy while still working detention, such as Lake Patrol on the Sheriff's boat, Underage Drinking enforcement opportunities, Denton's Fry Street Festival. In April of 2002, I promoted to Operations Division from Detention as a Bailiff for County Criminal Court #4 after interviewing with Judge Joe Bridges. I worked for Judge Bridges as his full time Bailiff until February of 2011. In the ensuing years I was able to learn how to work ALL the courts. In February of 2011 I transitioned to Patrol Division until July when I went back to Bailiff in the 158th District Ct. for Judge Steve Burgess. In early 2017 I became the Roving Bailiff due to my ability to work all courts. I continue to work in that position, filling in when the regular Bailiff cannot be there or just helping the assigned court Bailiff as necessary.
