Just prior to the start of the 2016-2017 season Bell was hired to work in Player Development with the LA Clippers. He is assisting with all pre and post practice workouts, game day workouts and off day workouts. In addition Bell assists with opponent scout prep and has also assisted the video staff with opponent preparation. Previously Bell worked as the second assistant on the Southern Utah University Men's Basketball team. His duties include but are not limited to coaching on the floor, recruiting, and game scouts. In addition Bell is heavily involved in the academic success of the student athletes: monitoring progress towards degree and study center supervision. The 2012-14 season will marked two years for Chad Bell as Director of Operations with the Nevada men's basketball program.He coached five Pack starters that earned postseason recognition with sophomore point guard Deonte Burton being named the WAC Player of the Year and to the AP honorable mention squad.Prior to returning to his alma mater, he began his coaching career at Wyoming, where his duties included film exchange and practice preparation. Bell played two seasons at Nevada after transferring from New Mexico. Following a redshirt season under NCAA transfer rules he played the 2004-05 and 2005-06 seasons for the Wolf Pack. The Pack went 25-7 his junior year, captured the WAC regular season and tournament titles and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament before falling to top seed Illinois. His senior year the Pack posted a 27-6 mark, repeated as WAC regular season and tournament champions. In the NCAA Tournament Nevada lost its opening round game to Montana.Following college, Bell played in the NBA Summer League and went to minicamp with the Atlanta Hawks. He played in the NBA D-League in 2006-07 and for part of the 2007-08 season. Bell finished his playing career during after the 2008-09 season in Romania.
