My primary focus areas were Herman Miller's VMware, Storage, and Windows Server Infrastructures. I architected and maintain a multi-site VMware Infrastructure that is extremely efficient and reliable. This virtual infrastructure provides robust Business Continuity for Herman Miller's IT systems. Large scale projects and undertakings include (but are not limited to):- Upgrading a geographically distributed Virtual Infrastructure to vSphere. Architect blade systems to support vSphere functionality and feature set- Tiering Enterprise class storage to effect savings. Migrating to new Tier 1 storage array- Reducing storage consumption and backup strain by leveraging snapshot and deduplication technologies across the environment- Architect, support, and deploy a cost-effective Virtual Infrastructure for remote sites including newly purchased subsidiary- Consolidated 24 server cabinets into 6 by leveraging VMware and blades, leading to an evacuation of 1/3 of the datacenter and subsequent expense savings
