Honoured to be part of the Cologne Game Lab team to build a serious game in the context of TH Köln's ISEDA project (Innovative Solutions to Eliminate Domestic Abuse).Description from CGL's announcement:In the coming months, Chad Comeau (Team Lead & Game Design), Kendys Ortega (3D Art) and Sergej Laas (Game Programming) will develop a serious game that will simulate different interview scenarios. This game will function as a training tool for social workers and police officers to hone their skills at conducting interviews by following standardized procedures. The development will also focus on creating believable, expressive virtual characters that will respond to the trainee’s input in order to train them at assessing body language, not to rely solely on the interviewee’s answers to assess a situation.About the project:The ISEDA project was launched in 2022 and aims to produce, test, evaluate, and upscale innovative solutions against domestic violence and abuse in Europe. Its consortium, coordinated by the Cologne Game Lab from the TH Köln brings together 15 partners from nine different countries. With my company Fring Frang, I develop games on a variety of topics, like Acadian culture, mental health, my grandmas, and local food. After finishing an adventure game with my hometown featuring over 100 NPCs performed by locals, I am developing a cultural cooking app highlighting traditional Acadian food as well as recipes from newcomers to the region.In addition to self-directed projects, I take game commissions. Past contracts have been with an arts and culture association, a school board, and a university research project. I am always glad to discuss game ideas with people or organizations who may want to create a game for their cause.Other skills include giving talks and workshops on games and game development, as well as game creation sessions for classrooms or other groups.

Coordinating with Video Games Without Borders and the Cologne Game Lab team to produce a new version of Antura and the Letters, an educational and well being mobile application for refugee children, for the Ukrainian crisis.Main priorities include coordinating translations of the game's content into five new languages and meeting weekly with the teams to ensure all aspects are properly adapted, from audiovisual content to learning curriculum.
