As Inbound / Outbound Sales Manager I reported directly to the UK Service Manager and held overall responsibility for five sales teams comprising of 20 employees in each. On taking over this position I implemented a culture of mentoring and coaching to increase the teams’ effectiveness and create a more dynamic sales department, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and that all KPIs were achieved to support Cigna’s commercial growth and strategic plan. I handled customer and corporate expectations through negotiation, influence and conflict management skills and introduced major business change programmes to enhance profitability. Some key achievements in this tenure include: Handled the creation of a new call centre based in Bournemouth, developing the business plan, recruiting 60 employees, opening the call centre in six weeks, and managing it within its first year of operation. Rationalised sales processes and introduced improvements, increasing productivity across key performance indicators, with gains from 10 – 20 %. Designed and implemented new organisation structures, roles, and communication approaches to sustain department and individual sales team growth. Applied business acumen to underutilised sales opportunities, turning them into viable business prospects. Developed motivational incentive schemes increasing individual performance allowing KPIs to be exceeded.
