Reporting to the VP Supply Chain, actively develops, implements and evaluates operational strategies, processes, policies and systems related to daily planning and operational excellence in the execution of shipments across the network, distribution and transportation carriers. Define action priorities through rigorous management and monitoring of performance indicators and costs associated with logistics and transport. Target the stakes related to transport logistics and develop innovative improvement proposals. Act as an intermediary to champion issues related to processes’ execution involving internal and external stakeholders to the next level. Actively contribute to the efficiency and quality of the company's transportation logistics process and offer support to business partners worthy of Cascades' business vision. Highlights include, but not limited to:- Lead a team of 2 Supervisors, 2 Logistic Coordinators and 2 Planners (and 38 Union employees) across 2 plants/1 warehouse located in St. Helens, Scappoose and Port of Portland. - Provide plants with logistics and transportation support, including analyzing transportation costs. Successfully renegotiated transportation rates for a projected $1.8M savings.- Shifted inventory to a 3% variance, delivering on a goal of 97% , by completely overhauling processes, bays and inventory in the Port of Portland warehouse.

Manage, schedule, and direct day-to-day operational requirements, and coordinate all activities of dockworkers and other support personnel. Provide planning for, direction to, and will control available resources associated with the timely, damage-free, and safe loading/unloading of freight on assigned shifts. Conduct driver and personnel training/cross-training/fork-life, performance feed-back, and conduct performance management, with a focus on employee development for 18+headcount/independent contractors. Create onboarding strategies for hiring training and overall employee retention. Ensure all work is performed according to Forward Air approved procedures, standards, and specifications for dock operations. Guarantee audit compliance within all areas of the operation. Review terminal operating reports and adjust labor schedules for increased efficiencies. Ensure accurate daily asset reporting: Trailers, Forklifts, TAP Scanners, Load Bars and Containers. Ensure appropriate load plans and proper load balance to ensure safe vehicle operation. Foster safe handling, loading, unloading, and storage of Hazardous Materials as provided by the Department of Transportation & ODOT. Program Administrator in the management, coordination and oversight of the County Public Transit Program. Monitor and provide oversight of contractor provided services and billing, ensuring compliance with Federal, State and Local rules and regulations and Program goals and objectives. Review and respond to inquiries from citizens. Resolve problems and complaints appropriately. Prepare monthly statistical analysis of route performance, ridership and costs. Highlights include, but not limited to:- Acting Transit Program Administrator in his absence - and after position vacated.- Design new bus routes and schedules, including analyzing run cutting to provide efficient, cost-effective operation of routes and service. Prepared and delivered Driver performance evaluations, and conducted effective forklift, safety and regulations training for up to 12 direct reports (5+ Drivers & 7 Warehouse).
