Primary responsibilities include providing engineering expertise to the 900,000 sq.ft. distribution center with regard to material handling systems, facilities improvement, ergonomic design, production methods and procedures, systems development and implementation, ROI justification, and budgeting. Serve as project manager for capital improvement projects and manage capital budget for the facility, including the development and execution of plans to support additional product lines for increased store volume, e-commerce, and the development of estimates for the equipment, systems, and personnel needed to complete various projects. Develop and maintain daily staff planning tools. Provide engineering support for the design, construction, and start-up of new distribution centers to include data analysis, item slotting, and material handling equipment commissioning. Lead and support Kaizen continuous improvement projects. Develop and maintain labor standards and associated productivity monitoring system, through management of a full time staff. Serve as labor management system administrator for the entire distribution center network.ACHIEVEMENTS:•Design and project management of conveyor sortation, workstation, software, and processes required to incorporate direct to consumer e-commerce order processing into existing distribution center operations.•Served as lead data analyst and key member of the material handling and WMS design teams for the development of a new 900,000 sq.ft. distribution center. Also served as lead engineer in the commissioning of pick-to-light, voice picking, conveyor, and sortation systems.•Implemented multi-variable standards for several functions, resulting in productivity increase of approximately 10%.•Created engineered standard based staffing tools used to predict daily staffing requirements for more than 1,200 production associates across multiple shifts in one distribution center, and 600 associates each in another two centers.

Responsibilities included providing technical support to project managers and customers to identify technical requirements as well as WMS system configuration. Also assisted project managers and customers to determine current operational procedures and configure the WMS system to meet the customer requirements, including collaboration with programming staff on enhancements. This involved developing and/or conducting customer specific training plans and assisting in training customer staff members in the system use.ACHIEVEMENTS:•Managed a successful integration between the shipping sortation conveyor system and the WMS for a leading sports apparel manufacturer and distributor.•Managed the testing and installation of new cycle counting functionality for a leading sports apparel manufacturer and distributor.•Served as the primary contact and technical consultant to a leading semiconductor manufacturer and distributor. The project included data analysis, testing, and execution of programs to update historical production data.•Led several WMS configuration and advanced user classes for numerous clients.

Responsibilities included working in a team environment to analyze, design, develop, and manage the implementation of warehouse management systems, material handling systems, and packaging lines for manufacturing plants and distribution centers. Also accountable for performing work improvement studies, economic analyses, site analyses, as well as writing and presenting reports to clients, writing proposals, and making sales calls. Other responsibilities included serving as the senior AutoCAD designer.ACHIEVEMENTS:•Provided project management for a warehouse management system implementation and material handling equipment installation for a retail goods distributor. Trained employees on the use of the warehouse management system via RF and GUI.•Reviewed existing warehouse operations in order to develop site functional specifications to select one common warehouse management system that would interface and support the functionality of five existing manufacturing/distribution facilities of a leading consumer goods manufacturer.•Managed WMS implementation for a leading paper products manufacturer. Trained employees on the use of the system via RF and GUI.•Performed a process material loss evaluation and developed recommendations that would improve material loss variances for a leading beverage manufacturer.•Completed and presented conceptual re-designs of the materials handling capabilities of the manufacturing and distribution facility for a food processing company to accommodate forecasted growth for the following three years.•Designed and presented a new warehouse layout for a giftware distributor considering various picking methodologies to accommodate forecasted growth for the following ten years.

Responsibilities included the design and implementation of various plant improvement projects, while serving as the primary AutoCAD designer and the Management Quality Representative for ISO 9000, API, and Otis Q+ quality systems. Other tasks included establishing manufacturing standards and bills of materials, generating alternate routings for various processes, providing technical support for vendor relationships, and serving as the MSDS Coordinator.ACHIEVEMENTS:•Designed and managed the implementation of safety guards and fixtures for several manufacturing lines including a new extruding/compacting process line.•Measured and drafted in AutoCAD a floor plan layout of the entire manufacturing campus, including the addition of a new pallet racking system.•Managed several projects to update and verify production information on the newly installed ERP system. •Responsible for developing and maintaining manufacturing standards for each of the stranding, closing, and extruding process lines.
