I started my first business at 13 (E&S Lawn Care). I invested in my first stock at 14 (Amoco). I bought my first investment property at 22 (39 south 11th street). One of my favorite Christmas presents ever was a leather-bound accounting ledger that my dad got me to track my lawn mowing/snow shoveling revenues. Yes, I was hooked on business and investing at an early age.I haven't changed all that much as I've grown professionally. Auditing (E&Y) morphed into financial leadership (Director of Finance, CPA, CFO), and I still love to listen to a good quarterly earnings conference call as I continue to seek 10 -baggers for my portfolio.Today after 20 years of non-profit financial leadership, I am following the noblest of missions and sharing my knowledge with students as a department chair and teacher. As the Director of the Robert W. Jurgensen Entrepreneurship Program at Dunn School, I created, direct and execute the instruction of a unique business and investing curriculum. Our program attracts students from all over the world and is supported by thankful alumni who benefited from its impact on their lives.
