In Business Insurance Actuarial and Analytics, I've led a variety of teams and initiatives, including support for the Construction business unit, followed by an assignment with tech partners to plan and implement a modernized Inland Marine policy rating user interface. My current team's focus is on the rating plans and rating technology for Marine and Boiler. We are proactively advancing rate plan analytics using predictive models.COOKING SHOWI'm also on a team that plans and coordinates continuing educational opportunities for all Travelers actuaries. In 2018 I wanted to help actuaries gain a greater appreciation of predictive modeling. If someone can watch a chef prepare a delicious meal in under an hour, using the tricks of TV editing, then couldn't we watch someone build a predictive model? I have been so lucky to work with a wonderful group of talented coworkers who brought the Travelers Cooking Shows to life. Episode 1: Predictive Modeling Cooking Show, and Episode 2: The Actuarial Reserving Cooking Show, have been watched over 10,000 times by various audiences of actuaries inside and outside of Travelers, regulators, lobbyists, auditors, underwriters and more!
